In 2008 it takes more than a big brand to be considered the very best. Today’s luxury goods consumer wants bespoke and understated products that reflect their individual tastes and styles, as reflected in the results of our inaugural Best of the Best list.

To help us compile the definitive list of the Best of the Best luxury goods for 2008, in the categories of cars, watches, wine, leathergoods and fragrance, we assembled a panel of 13, comprising category experts and luxury business leaders. The panel was required to give their recommendations for every category, nominating favourites for male and female. Lauded products cover recent 2008 releases and enduring classics.
